Do you need the exam at all?

Many doctors do not. Specialists and consultants with a Tier 1 certificate from countries such as the UK, Ireland, the USA, Canada, Australia, Germany or Switzerland are usually exempt. GPs who passed USMLE Step 3 or PLAB 1 and 2 can be exempt as well. A gap in practice of more than 3 years removes the exemption for non-UAE nationals.

Questions about the practice test

Are these real DHA exam questions?

No. Our team writes them in the style of the DHA Prometric exam: short clinical cases with one best answer. Real exam questions are confidential.

Which topics does the DHA exam cover?

For GPs it covers general medicine, including internal medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency medicine, psychiatry and pharmacology. Specialists are tested in their own specialty.

How much time do I have per question?

The GP exam has 150 questions in 3 hours including registration. That is about 72 seconds per question. Use the exam mode above to practise that pace.

What score do I need to pass?

The pass mark is 60%. You only see pass or fail on your result, not your score.

Can I skip the exam?

Yes, if you qualify for an exemption. It depends on your certificate, the country it is from and your years of practice. Our free Licence Check tells you in about 2 minutes.
